It is $50 to foster an elephant through the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and the organization does a wonderful job keeping you updated on the elephant’s condition throughout the year.

I usually spend that total amount for my nephews and niece, and they already have lots of toys.  I asked my sister if the children would be disappointed if they did not receive physical gifts this year for Christmas…fortunately, they are animal lovers like me and were delighted with the idea of getting to meet and follow an elephant online.  So, meet Ambo!

Ambo was stuck in the mud; at only four months old, he had little chance of tracing his mother after being rescued.  He was taken to the elephant nursery and rehabilitated, as he was exhausted and dehydrated.

He is now a happy elephant, playing with the other orphans and human keepers.
