President Obama gave his farewell speech yesterday night. In it, he briefly mentioned some policies of which he was particularly proud. One of the reasons I am grateful for his presidency is his commitment to protecting the environment. He has protected more land and ocean (553 million acres) than any other American president.
President Obama was also transparent about what his policies were and the results of his decisions. The government released a wildlife trafficking progress report, a comprehensive and interesting report that I encourage you to look at.
One area of success was Operation Crush, which prosecuted ivory smugglers and trained thousands of law enforcement to help protect wildlife in over forty countries.
Here is a review of President Obama’s environmental legacy.
